Welcome to Youth Ministry Exchange

.: YMX Doctrinal Position :.  .:Register for an account :.  .:Membership Levels :. .:Company Information :.

We sprang up in December 2005 to meet a relevent need in the professional youth workers community. We exist to serve, support, and reach out to those who serve, support, and reach out to today's incredible adolescents.

YMX What makes you different from other youth ministry sites? One big difference is that we're independently owned.  We saw that there were few places for "in the trenches" youth workers to practically find love and support or to be heard. While we love the big players, we know that they simply can't meet every need. So, we're trying to carve out our niche.

We subscribe to all the magazines, we go to the local and national events, and it just seems to all be the same... "Big Names" "Youth Ministry Celebrities" and no room for the little guy. So we created a place where "the little guy" could be heard and discuss things in their context. Here you'll find articles and forum posts from new names right alongside names you may have heard before.

The vision: All across this land, in small towns and large cities there are uniquely gifted people who meet a unique need in our society. While most adults run away from or are scared by middle and high school students, there are a handful of people in each community whom God has called to run to them!  Most people close doors to today's adolescents, you fling the door of your life open to them. We see you, we know you are unique, we know your heart aches and beats in ways that are extraordinary... and we know that being in youth ministry has it's unique challenges, hurts, joys, and learning experiences. This place is for you. Take it, jump in and make it your own.

While those in large metropolitan areas may find community and a support group not too far from home, we are aware that in thousands of cities across the country and around the world there are only 1-2 paid youth workers... and we know that they experience loneliness, isolation, and often have a hard time developing the friendships they need.

We want to help those people get heard and meet friends. The vision is simply to meet the need.

What YMX offers: (A short list)

  • Our driving force is our forums. Behind this site is a group of people who come here to talk and make friends, debate anything from their favorite football team to absolute truth, vent about their ministry, seeking ideas, or even seeking knowledge that THEY ARE NOT CRAZY.
  • Member submitted articles: Our members have great things to say. They may not all be famous or serving a monster mega-churches, but they've got great insights into youth ministry. We love to help "the little guy" get published! We hope this is the starting place for the next great generation of youth ministry thinkers.
  • Resource reviews: We work with many publishers and record labels to review new stuff that hits the youth ministry market so you can get the skinny on products. • Meet-ups: Members meet-up at regional and national conferences. If you are going to one, wouldn't it be fun to have people to hang out with? We've found this to be one of the most exciting parts of our community!
  • The Oasis: We are proud to offer basic help and access to resources to hurting youth workers. As people in ministry, we know that it is inevitable that ministry has it's ups and downs.
